CNA Nursing Skill – Taking Blood Pressure (With Video)

Author: Without a doubt, obtaining someone’s blood pressure is the most difficult skill that a Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT, or any other person new to the healthcare field will have, at first. This is somewhat difficult, but you will get the hang of it quickly. This is also one of the most failed skills on the CNA skills test. Not always because you record the incorrect blood pressure, but simple steps, such as feeling the brachial pulse.
Below are the steps that you will have to do in order to pass your cna skills.
1. First of all, remember the pre-steps of all skills.
Knock before entering.
Address person by last name or name the patient prefers.
Introduce yourself by first name and title.
Explain what you will be doing to that person.
Protect the patients rights and handle the person gently at all times during the procedure.
